Here we go again…making things better and improving the VueZone user experience! A few days ago, we launched the next evolution of my.VueZone.com – your personal account and camera viewing page. Remember all those things you told us you wanted in the surveys and emails? Well, we DO listen and are ticking down the list, implementing the most requested features. Perhaps the most important is our support for Chrome 10+ and Internet Explorer 9 browsers, in addition to Firefox and Safari.
Here are a few more key features:
1. Camera preferences and last view settings are saved for next time.
2. Camera control bar has updated navigation.
3. Quick change to easily toggle between viewing modes.
And we are proud to unveil a new diagnostics page to help you quickly resolve any performance issues. To see an overview of the new changes, visit VueZone.com/whatsnew. Or better yet, login to your VueZone system and take it for a spin! Keep those survey responses and emails coming…and stay tuned for more exciting VueZone news and products!

I want to thank you for your wonderful service. Thanks to you, I no longer stand wrongly accused, and I’ve reclaimed my rightful place as emperor of my kingdom. Let me explain…
A few months ago my stateroom started becoming inexplicably disturbed. Food would be scattered about, things would be knocked onto the floor, and there would be a foul stench in the air. My subjects would blame me, and say things like, “Bean – what has gotten into you?” Of course, I was indignant. Everyone knows I’m one of the cleanest creatures on Earth. What other creature licks itself so clean that it coughs up hair balls? But I digress.
The situation was becoming increasingly tense with each incident. I was furious that my subjects were letting this happen to me – and insulted that they would blame me for the crime! After a while they hatched a scheme – to use video to ‘catch me in the act.’
I did not think much about their plan. First, I knew I was innocent. Second, my subjects aren’t too bright. They haven’t installed any system more complex than a toaster – ever. So you can imagine my surprise when they were streaming live video over the Internet within minutes of opening the box. But what happened next almost knocked me off my feet.
Within days, they had indeed caught the perp in the act. The cameras started rolling automatically thanks the motion detection feature. Sure, he’s wearing a mask, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to ID him in a lineup!
Thanks a million, VueZone…you vindicated me! And I have the video evidence to prove it.
New VueZone systems and cameras with motion detection are now shipping!
So now, instead of “stumbling” onto a live video stream of the kids making mud pies in the living room – your VueZone motion activated camera will send you an alert with a video clip of muddy furniture that moves you to tears.
When your dog decides to tease the cat into hysterics, you’ll get an email alert that moves you to laughter.
Or when you spot an unwanted intruder in an otherwise empty house, thanks to a motion activated alert, you could be moved to action and call 911.
When you order your new VueZone system, you can choose from one or two camera kits and add more cameras at anytime. If you already have a VueZone system, you can easily add a new motion detection camera with a simple click of the sync button.
But the best news of all – VueZone has new lower prices and now ships with free Basic Service! Each system also includes a 90-day trial of the new Premier Service.
What will move you to tears…to laughter…or to action with a new VueZone motion detection system?
Each year, thousands rush to San Diego’s famed Balboa Park to see one of the most popular art exhibitions in the US – Art Alive at the San Diego Museum of Art. Now you can see a bit of it live via Vue!
Vue is pleased to continue our live video/art association with the Museum for this extravaganza of floral design integrated with the art collection. A tiny Vue camera has been placed in the Museum Rotunda to showcase the stunning floral entry to this year’s exhibition. Just click HERE to go to the Art Alive site and click on the video link to see a live view of the Rotunda.
Perhaps you’ll see a floral designer putting final touches on an arrangement. Maybe you’ll drop in on one of the evening patron events to be held over the next few days. Possibly, you will be motivated to go see the amazing full exhibition in person. But hurry, Art Alive only runs April 29-May 1. After all, flowers have a finite shelf life.
Cue the quirky Vue video. Press play. Give us your reaction. It’s that easy to win a new Vue system!
Congratulations to Pavee S., the winner of our March “Video Voting” contest on the VueZone Facebook page. Pavee now has a new Vue system!
The winning video for March was “Petting & Panting” – a unique role-reversal story of a dog who escapes the drudgery of canine life by using Vue to check in on his masters. Have you seen it? Why do you think it won? Haven’t seen it? Then go to our Facebook page and take a look. Follow the instructions to vote and maybe YOU will be the winner of a new Vue system at the end of April.
Stay tuned to our Facebook video page as new quirky videos are on the way. You can tell us what you like and what you don’t like. If you ever aspired to a job as a powerful Hollywood producer…this is the next best thing!
Sure, Sally Field may have coined the phrase, but that was long before Facebook was invented. Now, anybody who “Likes” Vue on Facebook could be the winner of a shiny new Vue system. You could be next!
Joe G. can attest to that fact as the winner of our February “Suggest This” contest on the VueZone Facebook page. He joins Jeffrey A., the winner of our January contest. Will YOU be the winner for March?…there’s still time to enter! Just go to Enter to Win! on our Facebook page to see how easily you can participate. Check out our videos, vote on the one you like the most and stand a chance to win a Vue system. If you already own a system, we’ll give you a Vue add-on camera.
This is our clever way to get the whole world to see our fun, quirky videos demonstrating some rather unconventional uses for Vue. Two videos are now posted for your viewing and voting pleasure. Check back often to see new videos.
Just imagine – in a few weeks you could be standing in front of the audience, clutching your new Vue system and joyfully thanking your friends…at least until the music plays and you are whisked off the stage.
We recently returned from CES 2011 with our first exhibition since our “pre-launch” display at CES 2009. Merely walking in the door at CES is enough to cause a spike in brainwaves…and blood pressure. But exhibiting there is quite an undertaking for a small company like ours. The 2011 experience caused us to look back on the long and winding road we’ve traveled since our last CES foray two years ago.
CES 2009 was well before our beta and retail product launch. We were fresh-eyed, full of vigor and eager to show the Vue concept to the tech world. The 2011 edition of CES was our opportunity to roll-out our Gen 2 stuff and show the tech universe that we hadn’t been resting on our laurels. This time, we had a few more lines around the eyes and were more seasoned with stories of the where/what/how’s of Vue. In ’09, the full-scale consumer concept of Vue was unproven on a mass scale. In ’11, we were gratified to have several Vue users stop by our booth and tell us how they were using their system.
Bringing new technology to the mass market is often quite a journey. We were a small company at our previous CES…and we’re still a small company, with big partners now. We were honored to be part of a much larger company this year, displaying our wares as part of the spacious Qualcomm exhibit.
As the famous philosopher Indiana Jones once said, “it’s not the years, it’s the mileage.” Seems like we’ve covered a lot of miles since our first CES…and we’re just gettin’ warmed up.
Vue Gen 2 is here – featuring motion detection cameras!
In the year since Vue introduced easy-to-install wireless video monitoring, we listened to user feedback and have now integrated many of the top requests into our new Gen 2 systems.
The top request was for cameras with motion sensors. But it wasn’t that easy. Vue technology was always designed to be completely WIRE-FREE. And integrating a motion sensor requires more power. The new Vue CM Motion Detection Camera is still wire-free, utilizing a 2-cell design. Installation is still incredibly easy with no wires, no power cords, no software…no hassles.
The entire camera and system line also features a fresh new look with a luminous pearl gray finish. People may glance at a Vue camera on the wall and wonder if it’s art or technology. It’s both!
Vue has evolved. And we adhered to the original precepts of designing a completely wire-free remote video monitoring system while making it attractive enough to integrate nicely into homes and offices.
The launch of Vue Gen 2 is truly moving. We appreciate the valuable feedback and insights of our many users. We sincerely thank you and wish you a Happy New Year!
